Who are we?
Jubilee House is a rehabilitation and recovery unit for adults which helps people go back into their local community after spending time in a hospital setting.
Jubilee House is an 8-bed mixed sex inpatient rehabilitation ward in Shildon. The ward supports service users with complex mental health needs who cannot be discharged directly from hospital due to high level of need.
The team at Jubilee House, work with the service users in their care to develop opportunities for future independence and step down into community living.
Who works in the team?
The team is made up of psychiatric nurses, student nurses, a consultant psychiatrist, medics, psychologists, health care assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, activity coordinators, physical health practitioners, pharmacy, volunteers, chaplaincy, administrative staff, and housekeepers.
The team will design a rehabilitation programme following an assessment. Regular meetings will be held with the service user and team to discuss their progress and establish goals. We welcome and value the input of family and friends whilst planning and delivering their care.
Visiting times
Please phone the ward before your visit to ensure the visit can be arranged.
Visiting will take place in an allocated room to allow privacy for all parties.
Visitors are asked to avoid times when residents are engaged in an activity as part of their daily programme
Children visiting the ward
The trust operates a visiting policy for children. Unit staff must be informed if children will be visiting.
Mealtimes
Residents cook their own meals therefore mealtimes can be anytime.
Smoking
Visitors are not permitted to smoke while on the unit, as smoking is not permitted in any trust buildings or grounds.
