For many patients, connecting with someone who has been through similar experiences can be a great support.
What is peer support?
We offer peer support across our services.
It provides you with the opportunity to meet others who have experience of mental health challenges.
Are peer support workers staff?
Peer support workers are paid members of staff. They all have experience of mental ill health.
Some of our peer support workers are currently receiving our care. Others have received our care in the past.
They will use their own experiences and training skills to support you.
What peer support is available?
Our peer support staff are here for you. They can:
- Facilitate peer support groups. So you can meet and learn from people with similar experiences.
- Provide one to one support. If you feel you would find this helpful in your recovery journey.
- Support you in moving towards your own goals and ambitions.
- Help you to find resources in your community.
