During the summer we held Our Big Conversation 2024. This was to help us shape our future plans.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in the conversation so far. We really appreciate you being so open and honest and for sharing your experiences to support our continued improvement.
Since launching our strategy, Our Journey to Change, in 2021 we’ve made continuous improvements which have had a positive impact on people’s experience of our Trust. We also know there is more work to do.
Listening to as many voices as possible
This latest conversation was about listening to as many voices as possible. This helps us to build a clearer picture of the big actions we need to take to further improve our mental health and learning disability services in the future.
Around 990 colleagues, people in our care, families and carers, partners and people in our communities joined our conversation. In total there were 12,920 contributions, which were a mix of ideas, comments and votes. We also held some face-to-face conversations.
Shaping our future direction
We read every single contribution, and they were also independently analysed. There were five key themes from the conversation and this invaluable insight will be used to help us shape our future direction.
- Transform how we deliver care (clinical models)
- Do more to create and support an open and involving culture
- Focus on digital and technology
- Improve how we manage our resources
- Prioritise safe and kind care – and making sure patients are at the heart of everything we do
Next steps
As we review and reflect on Our Journey to Change, we need to consider what’s next. This feedback, along with other data and insight, will help to shape the next stage in our strategic journey and our future priorities.
As we begin to develop plans, there will be further engagement opportunities over the coming months. Your involvement is incredibly important, and something we really value, so please do continue to be part of this important conversation.
