Since we started Our Big Conversation we’ve heard a lot about how the language we use, the images we share and the way we act all impact on how we make people feel.
We really listened to that.
Over the last year we’ve been doing more listening; to colleagues, patients, carers and partners to improve the way we communicate. It’s all part of Our Journey to Change.
We’d love you to take a closer look at how we’re becoming warmer, more welcoming and showing greater empathy to all – with one shared voice and one clear identity:
Chief executive Brent Kilmurray said: “Our first Big Conversation was sorely needed. It sparked much-needed reflection on who we were as an organisation and what needed to change to make things better for everyone involved with our Trust.
“It was a conversation that demanded action, and that’s what Our Journey to Change is about. It’s about action and continuing to take, vital steps towards positive change – together.
“To help us on our journey, the way we communicate is changing. You may have already started to notice things looking and sounding a bit different – from the images we share, to the words we use when we talk about our Trust.
“These changes will help towards achieving our three big goals – to work together to create a great experience for patients and carers, colleagues and our partners.
“We will build an identity and culture that delivers against our values of respect, compassion and responsibility – one that shares a commitment to safe and kind care. It will be felt in every community we care for – including our own teams.
“We can all help make our Trust a better place.”
