What is the Understanding and Managing Emotions Group?
It is normal and natural for everyone to experience emotion; sometimes emotions can feel overwhelming and difficult to manage. This feeling can lead to us doing things which may not be helpful in the long term.
Our group helps us to understand changes in our emotions and how to control them, so that they feel manageable and less overwhelming.
How does it work?
The group is free to join.
The group will meet weekly over five weeks at North Moor House.
Each session will last approximately an hour and a half including time for refreshments.
You will continue to be supported by your key worker outside of the group.
What should I expect?
There will be activities and discussions in each session. For your benefit, you will be encouraged to take part, share your views and practise your new skills.
You should only share with the group what you feel comfortable with.
Between sessions you will be encouraged to complete some activities in your own time, this will help you to learn the skills in everyday life.
How to join
If this is something you are interested in, please contact your key worker or one of the group facilitators on 01609 785060.
