The TEWV 10k running event will return in the spring.
Taking place at the Knavesmire, York Racecourse, on Saturday 19 April, the event invites runners of all abilities to take on a flat course.
Our inaugural TEWV 10k in 2024 was the first of its kind from an NHS Trust in our region, and saw hundreds of people run, jog and walk, with many raising money for good causes.
We have also announced a second event, the TEWV 5k, which will take place at HMP Kirklevington Grange Prison in Stockton-on-Tees on Sunday 9 March.
This unique addition to our running calendar offers a shorter distance over a flat course starting outside the prison, with participants completing three laps.
Emma Brookshaw, a modern matron and organiser of the event, said: “Last year we believe that we became the first NHS Trust in the region to organise our own 10k running event and we are so proud of what we achieved.
“The TEWV 10k received a really positive response, with some participants saying that they found a love of running after taking part.
“In 2025, we wanted to expand our offer to include a shorter distance and a new location, ideal for new runners or those looking for something a little different.
“We have a passion for wellbeing in TEWV and both the TEWV 10k and 5k are available to anyone – you don’t have to be an NHS employee.”
Entries for the TEWV 10k are £10 and only £5 for the TEWV 5k. All entry fees will go towards the staging of the events.
