We can’t wait to welcome you to the start line of the TEWV 10k on Saturday 19 April.
This guide contains all the information you need.
Picking up your run number
To pick up your run number, there will be a pickup station at the Knavesmire on the day of the event, from 8am.
Please be mindful of queues and make sure you give yourself plenty time.
Don’t forget to fill in the emergency contact information on the back of your number.
Travel
York has excellent motorway connections to the M1, M62, and A1(M), providing convenient access to major cities across the UK. Newcastle and Liverpool are both reachable in under two hours’ drive.
There is also a Park and Ride available which is just located outside of the city centre.
Arriving on site
The TEWV 10k will take place at York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Knavesmire Road, York, YO23 1EX.
There will be free on-site parking off Knavesmire Rd, which will be signposted. There will also be marshals around the area if you need assistance.
There are other events taking place at York Racecourse, including a car boot sale and the York Model Railway Show, so we expect the parking area to get busy quickly.
The baggage area will be next to the car park and near the finish line. Bags will all be left at your own risk.
Getting started
The start line is located on the Knavesmire and will be signposted.
Toilets will be located at the start and finish lines.
There will be no changing facilities available at the event.
Our brand new TEWV Fun Run will set off at 10:20am from the start line on the Knavesmire. All finishers will receive an Easter egg.
The 10k will start at 11am. There will be a warm-up just before from the Recharge Hub. We will also have local radio station YO1 entertaining you throughout the day to keep you upbeat and motivated.
We can’t control the weather, so please check the forecast in advance and dress appropriately. If it is hot, please be prepared with sun cream and a hat.
The course
The course will be just over 3 laps, passing through the start area each time, and there will be a water station provided on course at every lap.

When you finish
Once you have completed the 10k, you will be able to collect your medal, water and finisher’s bag from our volunteers.
You will be sent your finish time by text.
Please provide your own refreshments as there will be no food stalls.
Event terms
In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation of the TEWV 10k, all or part of your entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds or transfers are allowed under any circumstances.
